SCRAP Parties are a uniquely fun and sustainable way to celebrate a birthday or any special occasion. All parties include a creative reuse project led by our knowledgeable staff, and materials provided by SCRAP.
SCRAP Parties are two hours and are held in our festive studio located inside the SCRAP store located at 4567 Washtenaw Ave Ann Arbor, MI.
Each party includes: party host, setup and cleanup by the host, a short introduction, facilitated creative reuse craft project, and time for snacks, cake, pizza etc. if you choose to bring them.

for ages 6 and up
Build a scene in a small box from paper, plastic and other small materials.
for ages 6 and up
Make a collage image with paper goodies and other lightweight materials.
for ages 6 and up
Build a sculpture with SCRAP materials, including animals, robots, or silly people.
for ages 6 and up
Make your own stamp using craft foam and wood.
for ages 8 and up
Hand-stitch a small pillow or pouch with a button closure.
for ages 8 and up
Hand-stitch a small perosnal stuffie.
All parents should drop off and pick up their children at the SCRAP Education Studio located inside our SCRAP retail store at 4567 Washtenaw Ave. Ann Arbor, MI 48108. Please note two adults from your group must remian with the party the entire time.
No, the party is held in the SCRAP Education Studio, which is located within the SCRAP store. You are encouraged to schedule some time with your guests after the party to visit the SCRAP store.
Yes, we welcome you to bring cake or snacks to the party. We ask that there is no eating during the crafting portion of the party for saftey reasons. Your host will go over the schedule with you to know when to serve cake if you choose to. SCRAP provides reusable plates and cups upon advanced request and asks that single use dishes not be used.
Yes, if you would like to see the space before you confirm your party, you may stop by SCRAP during our open hours, Sun & Monday 12 pm-5 pm or Tues-Sat 10 am-7 pm.
Yes, we do ask that you have at least one parent for every six kids at the party available to help supervise and take trips to the restroom. Please do not bring more than one adult per child, however.
No, but parents may help the birthday guests with their craft project. Our mimimum age to craft is 6 years for saftey reasons. We can supply younger siblings with paper and coloring materials upon request. Each person who wants to participate in the craft project must be included in the guest total (The birthday person and up to 12 guests). We do not have extra materials available for parents if they are not included in the guest total.
SCRAP parties include 13 participants (including the birthday child), ages six and older. If you would like to add more, up to 2 additional children can be added for a maximum total of 15 participants - with an extra $15 per child fee.
Yes, anyone who is participating in the craft project is included in the guest count.
Yes, but there must be a parent or other adult present that will supervise the younger child at all times.
Please make arrangements with the parent to best determine how they should pick up their child early.
Yes, after the crafting portion, time is built into your 2 hour party for these activiites. Your SCRAP host will go over a scheule with you in advance.
